Cannot Detect Cpu Temperature
If you are on a personal connection, like at home, you can run an anti-virus scan on your device to make sure it is not infected with malware. I have just built my new rig and I cannot seem to get any third party programs to pickup my CPU core operating temperature. the max temp for that CPU is 65C, so you've got plenty of breathing room. I spend half my money on CPUs, GPUs, and Liquid Nitrogen. weblink

- it is not unusual for software based temp monitors to be as much as 10C off the actual temp.
- I had to use the Ultimate to detect them properly.
I wouldn't know how to use or obtain a physical probe anywho. just an FYI though, it may be more than "a tad inaccurate". It works fine and display the CPU temp in the task bar (I have 2 quad cores installed and it shows all 8 CPU temperatures in the task bar). THe point is, it did before I swapped mobos and I don't know why it doesn't now.
If you are at an office or shared network, you can ask the network administrator to run a scan across the network looking for misconfigured or infected devices. Also on my GPU it read 47C, whereas everest and ATI tray reports 49.
