Reply @$#!$# May 20, 2015 at 4:39 pm I ve gt a seagatte 1tb hard disk which does not appear in My Computers Neither in disk managment neither in device manager.But You can check for this using the Device Manager. Lo and behold, when I plugged the drive back in again, Windows recognised it. It will show a list of devices, and half way down is an 'UNKNOWN DEVICE' with the yellow icon next to it.

It suddenly stopped working and I am freaking out a little because I have ALL my data of the external hard drive. If it cant be seen or read. I used zero assumption recovery. Expand out Portable Devices, right-click on any items that are grayed out and choose Uninstall.
