I had to look through the comments again to realize my annoying file had a SPACE at the end and not a dot. Open the fikle with Unlocker 1.8.7, change the pulldown to delete, and bingo....gone. Unstoppable Copier been hunting for this! I had this page bookmarked and I knew I was gonna need it again.

I went through half this list trying every suggestion, then I hit your solution. If you're trying to copy to an external hard drive, make sure it's got enough power.
