  2. It seems that it couldn’t detect it on my system so it launched the SPTD setup, asked to restart the computer and then again and again.

It will probably give you a folder similar to the ones you already deleted. If you want to install it again then execute same setup and press "Install". It even allows me to uninstall it (which I do not do now).
