Cannot Delete Current Database Windows Media Player
if i go into the folders of the drive though, it has the right files, but i can't get it to come off of the drive onto WMP library. One thing I must know (and forgot to say in my last post) was what exactly causes this problem? May 13, 2008 Asagron No you dont loose files when doing this, you only loose the database and your settings I believe(not sure if settings are reset). I could not delete playlists or songs from the library 3. Thx again. I've yet to encounter the effect happening to othejr fields such as the song / album title, so there is certainly some reason why it is only certain tags are affected. Why fix what ain't broke? If you rt-clk on the library and open properties you can select the folders and remove them from the library. MS should really do more to resolve this issue.

John > T Have the same experience as Erin. I had backed up all my music files and cleaned out my playlist folder. Sometimes my ITunes puchases show up in WMP, sometimes they don't. Right click on the top of your music folder and untick the "Hidden" box, then make sure you select the option to apply to all files and subfolders when asked.

It will not let me delete my database. THANK YOU VERY MUCH for posting this. I had to make a change to the Windows Registry so that My Music, My Videos, and My Pictures pointed to the E: drive instead of the H: drive. Is slightly different on Vista, but it worked - thanks a lot !
I swear Win 7 and all the new MS programs, are exactly the same as XP and its era of Programs, just with all the menus and buttons hidden. At last it works fine now ! Find the service called "Windows Media Player Network Sharing Serivce", Right-Click on it so it says ‘Stopped'. I have deleted it under all the users that exist after all users.
