Cannot Detect Hard Disk When Installing Windows Xp
Thnx in advance!!! Before you install XP, you must first configure a setting in BIOS else the XP CD will not detect your hardisk. Otherwise you will throw everything, including yourself, out of the window. If, like many, your BIOS is limited and doesn't allow the setting change, then have you read EVERYTHING above, including the comments? his comment is here

When Windows setup completes change the mode back to AHCI in the BIOS If your problem still exists after changing this option then change it back to AHCI and proceed to I reset the bios to Disable the sata and IT WORKED PERFECTLY! At this point you can burn the ISO image to a CD, and then start your XP installation process. If they had more expert status they probably wouldn't be here asking for help.
Doesn't really have the same ring as Tweet Tweet does it? I then burned them on to a new disk. HP Compaq Presario V3000 dont have a AHCI or IDE at BIOS. My new Vista-installed laptop had a SATA controller not supported in XP.
